I am speechless........Use to be faithful InuYasha fan.........read the manga everyweek (scans that is).  It was the manga that introduced me.  Kinda of fallen behind lately.  Been about oh, two months, since I have read and I went this morning to get caught up at MakiMaki where you can read the trans online.........after months (year?) of nothing Rumiko comes out of nowhere with a smack to the jaw.  Never thought she would kill off Kikyo until the end..........I am still in shock.  Maybe she will actually end the series by Chapter 500.

In other Manga news, translation for Fullmetal 61 is still not out.....*drumming nails on desk*.....

Do you mean to say something actually *happened*?!?

I lost interest in IY because it became the same ol' same ol' after about ep. 100 or so (in the anime).

I can't believe Rumiko finally did something with lasting consequences in the manga. Amazing!

Yep, shocking as it may sound after a sleeper of a year, in the last 3 issues Kouga lost his shards and now Kikyou is dead. The only shard left is the one in Kohaku now and before Kikyou died she said she was leaving him to Kagome to protect. So now the gang consists of Inu, Kagome, Kohaku, Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kouga.

Eeee! Kikyo dead omg! I mean, I know she's dead, but she's *dead* now, right? Oh, I am pleased - she was soooo annoying. :D

(Which doesn't make a lot of sense, because I ship Kagome with pretty much anyone who isn't InuYasha ... go figure.)

Well lots had happened to Kikyo in the manga that hadn't in the anime, so she wasn't really as hated as she use to be. She wasn't trying to kill Kagome anymore or anything and was even trying to help her a little, or eat dead girls souls and wasn't trying to take InuYasha to hell anymore. Something to do with Midoriko's spirit melding with hers. (I don't know) *shrugs* So it was all sad, sad, tear, tear in the manga. Even Kagome was balling all over herself telling Kikyo she couldn't die. :/

I for one wasn't crying myself.....my first reaction was
"ding dong the witch is dead...." ;)

*giggles* That's cool, I'm having one of those weeks too. (And apparently, the week is being crammed into 48 hours, which ... ew.) I'm impressed, though - like Laura said, they just never seemed to go anywhere, so my IY watching tends to trail off into 'oh hey Miroku ep' or 'Sesshoumaru, mm!'. Wonder what Takahashi's planning? She's done a lot of buildup ...
