He and Grimmy share make-up....AWWWWWWW!!! *is shot*
Someone must make icons, DAMMIT!
*brain explodes from fangirl explosion*
Manda-chan does not mind spamage!!! X3!
Date: 2006-09-12 11:33 pm (UTC)And you HAVE to love Aizen, just for the pure genius of him...
w00t!
Date: 2006-09-12 11:42 pm (UTC)No, no I do not think that I love Aizen. Very grudgingly respect and even admire his talents and despise and the fact that such a character could earn such a reaction from me, yes, but not love. *shakes head*
I would park his shoes under my bed! *crazy laughter*
Date: 2006-09-12 11:48 pm (UTC)Gin is the one who gives me the major creeps....and I just want to bash Tousen in the head. You'll learn to appreciate more of Aizen's genius as you go along (not to mention Urahara's...)
I'm not even gonna ask...
Date: 2006-09-12 11:56 pm (UTC)Gin, from the moment I first saw the character, my impression of him was overwhelmingly "snake". I mean, seriously. Immediate association upon seeing him. So he really hasn't surprised me, though I do find him a little pitiful. Tousen... *sigh* he needs some sense physically knocked into him. And some spine. >_>
I'm not sure I *want* to appreciate Aizen's genius. -_-;; And Urahara has always rocked, so nyah. ;p
::jumps in:: There's a reson why I call him 'that bastard'...
Date: 2006-09-13 04:09 am (UTC)I never liked Ichimaru, and though I enjoy bastard backstabbing characters far more than I should, he just rubs me in the completely wrong way... Therey's a reason why I call him 'Nyaaaa', too...
Appreciate 'that bastard's' genuis for carrying on the plot of Bleach, if nothing else. ::headdesk:: So many things I wanna say about him that I can't cus they will spoil you... ::blinks:: If you don't want to be spoiled, you SO friended the wrong person! ::shot by Manda::
yet more spammage?
Date: 2006-09-13 04:19 am (UTC)Gin is, well, pitiful. He's weak, and cowardly, and I probably don't dislike him so much as dislike what he does and feel sorry for him being so weak like that. Or something, hard to explain.
Oh, and I probably have a good grasp of Aizen just from the end of the SS arc. I seem to have a knack for nailing down characters' personalities in my first impressions of them...
Eh, whenever I read posts made by the Bleach fans on my friends page, I automatically have my anti-spoiler defenses up at full strength, and usually only need barely glance at a post for it to register as "safe, read all" or "spoilers! stay away!!"
Re: yet more spammage?
Date: 2006-09-13 04:51 am (UTC)The end of the SS arc definitely gives you pretty much everything you could ask for. It's DURING the SS arc where he decieves you... Makes me think of that Aizen/Momo AMV to the Song Angel's by Within Temptations where the key phrase that repeats over and over in my head is:
The Smile where you tore me apart...
You took my heart, deceived me right from the start
[/end random song]
Anti-spoiler-dar is a great thing. I wish I had it for my ears since one of my friends enjoys going 'Oh, and this part was good ::starts talking::' Aa don't spoil me! 'No, no it isn't a spoiler, just listen!' Just let me read it myself, damnit!
Re: yet more spammage?
Date: 2006-09-13 05:01 am (UTC)Yes... the thing is though, Aizen was one of the few characters that I couldn't remember my first impression of him. Tousen being the other one. Just too many characters introduced at once, I didn't have time to fully register all of them. The only things I *can* remember about my thoughts upon first seeing Aizen, in that scene with all the captains assembled, was something about him looking like a salaryman, and being struck as that being maybe a little too ordinary? I really have no idea what I thought of him at first though, which now after the fact greatly frustrates me. -_-;;
I did, however, know with absolute certainty that there was no way Gin was the culprit behind Aizen's "death", and that while he was suspicious, he wasn't the ringleader. I just couldn't pinpoint who the ringleader actually was, because no one else (alive) qualified, and as I said Aizen was one of the characters I didn't get a chance to fully look at at first.
Yes, 'tis very useful. Also included is an ability to actually *forget* certain amounts of spoilers immediately after seeing them, if attention is averted quickly enough. However, seeing the same spoiler again starts to reinforce it in memory, so it's not something that can be repeated constantly.
I go to bed early and look at the spamage!! XXDD!!
Date: 2006-09-13 08:51 am (UTC)And I try not to spoil, dammit! *pouts*
*snickers* Poor you ;p
Date: 2006-09-13 06:12 pm (UTC)Gin is... well, as I was thinking last night, Gin's like the kid in the class who comes from a home where his parents don't love each other, and who hits the other kids because he doesn't know any other way to express himself. He's at once both envious and fearful of the affection other people show each other, and desires it, but doesn't know how to get it, and in the occasional case he does, what to do with it. So he falls back on the only way he does know how to deal with people- hitting them.
He's probably not irredeemable, I think his regret and apology to Matsumoto was genuine, but on the other hand, he again just doesn't know how to love or be loved. He isn't loyal to Aizen, no, not in the way Tousen would be. He has no loyalty to the cause, just his own self-interest, and the fact that he knows that he can't hit Aizen, because Aizen hits harder. And that's something Gin does understand. If he thought he could get away with it, he'd have nothing stopping him from hitting Aizen and betraying him. He simply right now knows that he can't. And Aizen is probably well aware of this too, I doubt he would've taken Gin on without being well aware of what kind of person and temperment he was dealing with...
'That bastard' is a sly one...
Date: 2006-09-13 12:34 pm (UTC)My first impression was probably, 'emo glasses' to be honest. He really did fade away with all the other's introduced. He also looked the gentlest out of everyone, besides Ukitake... And I laugh at your frustration! Bohahahaha!
I just raised my eyebrow and went with the flow. I rarely analyze a show/manga while I'm watching it unless it's just SO obvious. I only ever start to speculate when I get deep into a fandom, like what I did with Death Note. ::whistles::
I convieniently 'forgot' the spoiler Asahu told me about the 6th book of Harry Potter from halfway through the 1st book until the very last part in the 6th when I remember 'Oh shit! *That* still hasn't happened yet!
If Gin's a snake, Aizen's a fox....
Date: 2006-09-13 06:19 pm (UTC)Then we keep watching, and get over halfway into the series, or even up near the end, and there'll be some new plot development and flashback, and suddenly the rest of the club now shares my opinion of that character I'd had from the start. So there's a very distinct chance that, had I not been overwhelmed by characters all being introduced at once (and I'm terrible at names, so that made it worse), I might have had bad feelings about Aizen right from the start....
If Aizen is a fox, it must be hunting season...!
Date: 2006-09-13 09:05 pm (UTC)I know many VAs too that I like. Crispin Freeman [Togasa : GitS and Holland : Eureka 7] is my fave VA right now, though it used to be Brian Drummond [Zechs Marquise : Gundam Wing and Vegeta 1 : DBZ] but he faded away. ::sighs:: For some reason, female VA and seiyuu don't stick to me. I can ramble of a list of them, but I can never remember who they played. Megumi Hayashibara I can always pick out though, if it's a comdey role she's playing... [It also means the OP and ED are probably sung by her, too! ::laughs::]
Good point. *loads shotgun*
Date: 2006-09-13 09:10 pm (UTC)I know a lot of Funimation and ADV VAs, largely thanks to stuff like FMA. I don't really pay *that* much attention to the dubs and dub cast, other than curiosity and critical analysis and such.
Though I still say they should get Chris Sabat to do the dub voice of Don Kanonji.... XD
::dawns chaps::jumps on a horse:: Let's go!
Date: 2006-09-14 02:03 am (UTC)I know lots of Funimation and ADV, too. I only know a few Viz because really, all I watched of theirs is Inu Yasha and Hanayori Dango. [And, sadly, the dub of HYDango is SO much better than the sub to me. Sango's VA as Tsukushi was a good choice, but anyway...]
I'm still reeling over Kon's voice... I don't ever want to hear it again... but I have to, because he's a main/semi-main character like Tatsuki was until the SS arc... Don Kanoji = scary
I believe that should be "dons" not "dawns"...
Date: 2006-09-14 02:26 am (UTC)speaking of did you see my little rambling comment on Gin above?And I don't think I've tended to land on the characters that die, it's usually the ones that get written off for one thing or another right away (such as being a jerk, etc) and then later you find out ooohh so much about them that now everything they're up to makes *sense*. Like Roy in FMA, who comes across as arrogant and all that until you actually get to know his character.I also apparently have an uncanny ability at times to pick out the character(s) I'm most similar just by seeing them, and not knowing anything about them at the time, at all. >_>;;
*snickers* I dunno, I'm firmly in the different != better/worse camp, I just prefer subs on principle, but tend to view dubs as objectively as possible. And yes, Kanonji is scary. So is Armstrong in FMA. Which Sabat does a beautiful job of, hence me suggesting him for Kanonji. XD
::sighs:: whips on chaps:: jumps on horse:: And we're off!
Date: 2006-09-14 02:43 am (UTC)I'm not sure their's a character that can fully display my idiocies and contradictions tot he extremes that I have them...
I prefer subs, but I won't knock dubs and watch them all the time on TV. Any voice I can get used to, whether I like it or not, and it's always funnest thing to watch a new dub with your friends and rack your brain trying to figure out which VA each character has. Armstrong is fun though... if not a little... yeah... I call him Mr. Picco-strong
*insert witty remark here*
Date: 2006-09-14 02:52 am (UTC)Some characters seem to come scarily close for me. -_-;;;;;;
Well, there's also looking up the VAs' other roles before you even start watching the dub... ;p
::insert even snarkier comment here::
Date: 2006-09-14 02:57 am (UTC)But that isn't fun! For major series I don't want effed up, I look, but for others that just pop on TV randomly, I don't look until after to make sure I'm right...
*insert ultimate snarkiness*
Date: 2006-09-14 03:07 am (UTC)Well, I guess. *shrugs*
::plugs ears::: La la la la, can't heear you~!
Date: 2006-09-14 03:15 am (UTC)...but how many languages do you speak/write fluently?
....dude, this is TEXT, plugging your ears won't do anything
Date: 2006-09-14 03:20 am (UTC)Fluently? English. >_> I can read Japanese fairly well if there's furigana for the kanji, though I have some books without furigana I need to get to reading for the practice. Writing isn't quite as good, though I tend to have good grammar, just need to look up a lot of words. I also took Spanish in high school and still seem to be able to read a fair amount, though don't ask me to speak it. Want to learn more languages, though.
