Oh, scaring people with Papillon is fuuun. He's just so full of crack. XD *is somewhat tempted to RP him on Sages of Chaos just for the sheer crack value*

I knoooow, I can't wait for it to start airing, what little teasers they've shown on the official site are just sooo... *flails*

(though on the same note, TAKE THAT Shueisha, Busou Renkin gets an anime even AFTER you cancelled it!)

Aa! I thought that got cancelled! Manda-chan told me it hadn't been...! Or were we confused on the anime we were talking about? ::flails::

The manga got cancelled. But Shueisha let Watsuki write a few more extra chapters for the tankoubon to wrap it up, so it wasn't just cut off.

Then after the manga was cancelled and done with, the announcement for the anime was made.

::nods:: That's what I meant, the manga. Anime just popped itself in there for some reason... Now was it really bombing at SJ? I mean, I expected something from the RK mangaka to fly pretty well. I, personally, don't like it that much, though. It was in the SJ Superstars game for the DS and I liked making him spear things halfway across the screen... ::laughs::

Now how rushed was the ending to it? [aka how many noninformed US readers are going to bitch and moan about the ending and about how they should write more and to make them write more they'll send in lots and lots of letters and e-mail?]

You know, I have no idea if it was bombing or not, but I suspect it wasn't doing *that* badly. I really have no idea why they pulled it, especially since as demonstrated in Ruroken, Watsuki's plots just get better and better the more involved the story gets, once it's picked up enough momentum. I mean, Gun Blaze West didn't do all that well, and I can kinda see why, but Busou Renkin? I dunno, it seemed kinda abrupt that they pulled it.

Some parts of volume 9 seemed a little rushed to me, largely because several new characters were introduced in the last plot arc that I think Watsuki had more plans for than he actually got to play out. However, the actually ending in the last part of volume 9 and into volume 10 is just fine.

I don't know, I think a series really does have to be bombing pretty badly for them to pull it, but the mangaka MUST have had some dedicated readers to make it at least a partial hit. I wish I knew how far back in the anthology it was published. I hear they put the manga in there in vague order of popularity, so the further back you get, the more likely it'll get cut later...

I might just read the last two volumes to see, even if I won't have any idea what's going on...

I dunno. I mean, Busou Renkin was never on the smash hit success level, but it certainly wasn't bad. I think if anything, Shueisha failed at advertising it, seeing as how it seems to have little to no merchandise, etc. People don't know it even exists, of course they aren't going to read it. -_-;;

Yet apparently it was popular enough and/or had a good enough story to get an anime adaptation made even after it was cancelled, so go figure. Maybe next story Watsuki does (well, other than his oneshots *is looking forward to the new Embalming*) will get a little more attention...

Well, to me, if it's in the SJ Superstars game, I will at least have a passing knowledge of it... I still regret knowing anything about Bo Bo Bo though... That show kills my braincells every frame...

As far as anime adaptations go, how do they even decide? It can't just be on popularity because some of the anime adaptations out there are like 'Buh, what manga is this based on? Never heard of it...' Even though I love the maho shoujo cheese factor of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, I will never understand how they milked 44 episodes out of 7 tankouban. That is a lot of filler... But I am looking forward to the Death Note and Nodame Cantabile anime adaptions. Those should be fun... ::snerks:: Kappie Yamagumi is L [or is it Light?] Man... I'd love to hear either character growl...
