Death Note seiyuus announced and....WTF?

Ok,  I admit, I have been STOKED about the Death Note anime.  Anything to take my mind off of Bleach fillers *weeps silently*.  Today on the Weekly Jump com, they announced the seiyuu choices the studio made.  I ..... I have one thing to say:

WTF?!!  Ok, so maybe I'm overreacting....*think happy thoughts*......but.......Kappei Yamaguchi as L??!!
MY L!!!!!!   NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wtf? I mean, WHAT?

I dunno this guy's other work--but L is the most important, dreamy, insinuating voice. HE REQUIRES THE BEST SEIYUU!

I like Kappei's voice! But... heh heh... that's cus he growls... He also does Shinpachi's voice from Peace Maker Kurogane... The short red-headed one... ::jumps:: But for L... Hmmm... I don't know...

I dunno, I could see it working - he's got that youthful/smooth yet slightly edgy tone.
