What could I possibly mean by a subject line like that?  Well, for those that don't know, I have a 6 year old daughter.  She is an only child and use to being around adults most of the time.  In fact, the first time she was really around other children for an extended length of time was kindergarten...Anyway, the result of that, is sometimes I feel like I am raising a mini-adult in the way she talks.

One of the hard copy manga's I keep is Death Note.  I try to keep it up and out of the way because, even though, Chloe may sometimes talk like an adult, she is still 6, and some of the stuff in there could be beyond her.  (She just LOVES looking at Ouran by the way).

Well, this morning, I accidentally left volume 4 laying out on the coffee table while I answered the phone, and she picked it up.  When I walked back in the room, she was perusing it.  I just did not want to snatch it out of her hands, as I could see the brows furrowing with unasked questions of curiosity instead of fear.  She brought the book to me opened to a particular page and asked if this scary looking fellow was the bad guy...

I told her no not really, he was neither good nor bad, but had to stay with his notebook which the bad guy had.  He was just bored most of the time.  Then of course I was anticipating this question, who is the bad one....I pointed out this guy....

She said "The pretty one?" puzzled.  There began the discussion that not all evil is in grotesque packages sometimes it can be quite appetizing and harmless looking.  So haha! to you who think manga is a waste, I managed to teach an important lesson today without aiming to.

::laughs:: Who says manga doesn't teach! ::nods:: Though I love the smex that is sociopath!Raito/Light, he is so the bad guy. It teaches us that we all have a little evil inside of us... some more than others...

Yay for manga! And, you know, this will stick with her - I know it would have me at that age. (Because hey, comics!)

Of course, I'm convinced C is not actually a 6 year old, she's just a 35 year old midget living in your house. :D
